<div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><object height="360" width="580"><param name="movie" value="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/3jHyl-97h5o&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1"></param><param name="allowFullScreen" value="true"></param><param name="allowscriptaccess" value="always"></param><embed src="http://www.youtube-nocookie.com/v/3jHyl-97h5o&hl=en_US&fs=1&rel=0&color1=0x5d1719&color2=0xcd311b&border=1" type="application/x-shockwave-flash" allowscriptaccess="always" allowfullscreen="true" width="580" height="360"></embed></object></div><br />
<div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The amazing true to life story of how unknown Filipino lead singer Arnel Pineda was discovered in Youtube and eventually recruited to join the legendary rock band Journey is an inspiring and awesome tale that demonstrates the value of dedication, hard work, and determination in the pursuit of one's goals in life.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Before Journey, Arnel Pineda was already a professional lead singer of bands performing in various clubs around the Philippines and HongKong. Prior to his being discovered by Neil Schon, lead guitarist of Journey, Arnel was the lead singer in a Philippine performance band named Zoo whose main club acts were cover interpretations of classic Top 40 songs of popular artists.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Listening closely to the performance of the original Journey with Steve Perry and the new Journey with Arnel Pineda, the vocal resemblance is strikingly identical marked with unique particularities. It can be validly said that these personal performances of Steve Perry can never be duplicated since the original songs were interpreted by Steve according to the message it was written with. Steve Perry was an active contributor as he co-wrote some of Journey's legendary hits along with keyboardist Jonathan Cain and guitarist Neil Schon.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The thing so impressive about Arnel is how he interprets and give new life to some of Journey's most classic songs. Arnel like Steve passionately sings with a lot of moving emotion and infuse new life to these immortal songs for relevant appreciation of today's generation. His soulful and emotion-filled rendition of Journey's classics are equally as good that of Steve, that Journey is willing to take their chances on Arnel in their second journey to fame and popularity towards a new set of younger audiences. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Journey's most recent release Revelations include classic and new materials as interpreted by Arnel Pineda was released in June 2008 and has sold more than 104,000 copies in its debut week and accomplished a peak position of 5th in Billboard's Top 200.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Arnel relates that as a child his singing talent was inspired and further developed by his mother who had always believed in his ability and encouraged him to sing during their mother-son bonding moments while crooning to their favorite songs on the radio. His initial public exposures started out by joining singing contests prodded and encouraged by both parents to further enhance Arnel's natural gift of singing. </span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="color: #4c1130;">Those good parental genes and constant attentive rearing has finally paid off, as Arnel Pineda now proudly belongs to the new generation of Filipino talents that are proving to be of world-class entertainment level. He is living proof that if you don't stop believing on yourself, the world will eventually discover what you are exceptionally made of. So continue to hold on to your dreams, faithfully!</span></span><br />

<span style="font-size: small;"><b>TWO IS BETTER THAN ONE - BOYS LIKE GIRLS / TAYLOR SWIFT</b></span></div><br />
<div><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">The immense popularity of YOUTUBE as an entertainment platform transcends the limitations of traditional forms of media. It has provided immediate access to different types of media material that would have otherwise been restricted or worse prevented from being viewed freely by anyone who wishes to do so.</span></span></div><div><br />
</div><div><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Lately, it has become the favorite venue of unknown but talented artists who upload their materials in the hopes of being discovered for their own merits without going through the nightmarish maze of a promotional bureaucracy.</span></span></div><div><br />
</div><div><span style="font-size: small;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">One such potential artist is Tyler Ward and his friends. If you don't know Tyler, you'll probably recognize him and his crew for their excellent acoustic remake of We Are The World, 2010 for Haiti which are getting excellent reviews since the video was uploaded on 11 February and until this date has already received 464,191 views.</span></span></div><div><br />
</div><div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Despite his talent for performing live, Tyler has never been signed by a major record label. This young talent from Aurora, Colorado has released his first self-titled debut album under an independent label. More of his music can be auditioned at <a href="http://www.reverbnation.com/tylerward">reverbnation</a>. </span></div></div><div style="color: #20124d; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"></div><div style="color: #20124d; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Here is a brief biography of Tyler Ward as described in his own <a href="http://www.tylerwardmusic.com/">website</a>.</span></div><div style="color: #20124d; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"></div><div style="color: #20124d; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><div><br />
<div style="color: #4c1130; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><span style="font-size: small;">Passion is what drives Tyler Ward to write, produce and perform music; however, music wasn’t always his focus. Encouraged by his father at a young age to pursue athletics, Tyler spent his time working towards scoring touchdowns and winning football games rather than chasing his musical dream. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #4c1130; font-size: small;">After completing high school, Tyler was accepted to the United States Air Force Academy where he began his collegiate football career. He never adjusted to the military lifestyle. “I smiled too much,” Tyler says. It was because of his excessive smiling and creative expression that Tyler found himself scrubbing toilets and cleaning floors on the weekends.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #4c1130; font-size: small;">Despite the intensive janitorial experience, Tyler decided to move on. He left the Air Force Academy and accepted a scholarship to the University Of Northern Colorado. It was there when Tyler polished his songwriting skills. “I loved writing music in college,” Tyler explains. “I loved it so much that I would get in trouble for skipping classes and football practices to finish up song ideas.” Tyler believes that his songwriting developed as he pursued his journalism degree.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #4c1130; font-size: small;">Tyler’s realization of becoming a successful national artist arose when he first started playing with national acts such as The Fray, The Jonas Brothers, Gavin DeGraw, Augustana and Ryan Cabrera. “After that first big show with The Fray, I was sold on doing music for the rest of my life,” Tyler says. Playing shows for thousands of people fueled Tyler’s drive and creativity. It drove him to write and record several demos that have attracted attention throughout the major music industry.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #4c1130; font-size: small;">“I love playing music,” Tyler says. “It’s by far the best job I’ve ever had.” Tyler credits his musical talents to his mother, Susan Ward, who is a classically trained musician. Tyler notes, “My mom rocks.” </span></div></div></div><div style="color: #20124d; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
Krista Nicole of Oregon was only 15 years old on July 15, 2007 when she started to upload some of her own self-arranged vocal performances with her father Scott as acoustic guitarist. She reveals in her description, "I am 15 years old, unsigned, and waiting to be noticed. This is what I want to do." Krista is one of the female lead vocals in the "We Are The World 2010" acoustic remake recently uploaded by Tyler. More of her acoustic cover performances can be viewed at her own Youtube <a href="http://www.youtube.com/user/KristaHeartzuz">site</a> and also at her own <a href="http://kristanicole.com/">website</a>.<br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">Meantime, Tyler and his friends are busy concentrating on doing cover tracks of other established artists and putting the finished video material on Youtube for everyone in the internet world to discover that there's so much more they can do on their own. </span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-size: small;">It's about time the major labels give them a close look and seriously consider them for a sign-up; for it's only a matter of time till their mainstream popular music talent goes all the way to the bank.</span><br />

I fell to my knees this week in hopes to find an answer on how I could help provide support to the people of Haiti. This video is what I came up with. . . My only motivation for this video/song is to get you to consider donating to a relief organization you trust. <br />
<br />
This song entitled "Tribute" was originally written for the tragic events that occurred at Virgina Tech in 2007, and was called "VT Tribute." Stay strong Hokies! <br />
<br />
I trust the following relief organizations, and hope you will consider them as well: <br />
<br />
Food for the Hungry: <br />
<br />
<a dir="ltr" href="http://www.fh.org/" rel="nofollow" target="_blank" title="http://www.fh.org/">http://www.fh.org/</a> <br />
<br />
Compassion International: <br />

<b>TYLER WARD AND CREW ACOUSTIC COVER</b></div><br />
<b>There comes a time <br />
When we heed a certain call <br />
When the world must come together as one <br />
There are people dying <br />
And it's time to lend a hand to life <br />
The greatest gift of all <br />
<br />
We can't go on </b> <b><br />
Pretending day by day <br />
That someone, somewhere will soon make a change <br />
We are all a part of <br />
God's great big family <br />
And the truth, you know love is all we need <br />
<br />
[Chorus] </b> <b><br />
We are the world <br />
We are the children <br />
We are the ones who make a brighter day <br />
So let's start giving <br />
There's a choice we're making <br />
We're saving our own lives <br />
It's true we'll make a better day <br />
Just you and me <br />
<br />
Send them your heart </b> <b><br />
So they'll know that someone cares <br />
And their lives will be stronger and free <br />
As God has shown us by turning stone to bread <br />
So we all must lend a helping hand <br />
<br />
[Chorus] </b> <b><br />
We are the world <br />
We are the children <br />
We are the ones who make a brighter day <br />
So let's start giving <br />
There's a choice we're making <br />
We're saving our own lives <br />
It's true we'll make a better day <br />
Just you and me <br />
<br />
When you're down and out </b> <b><br />
There seems no hope at all <br />
But if you just believe <br />
There's no way we can fall <br />
Well, well, well, well, let us realize <br />
That a change will only come <br />
When we stand together as one <br />
<br />
[Chorus] </b> <b><br />
We are the world <br />
We are the children <br />
We are the ones who make a brighter day <br />
So let's start giving <br />

It's true we'll make a better day <br />
Just you and me. </b></div><br />

</div><div style="color: #20124d; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">When the original version of this classic hit "We Are The World" first came out in March 7, 1985; songwriters Michael Jackson and Lionel Richie committed that proceeds from the sale of this monumental collaboration recorded by the group USA for Africa were solely donated for the famine relief in Africa.</span></div><div style="color: #20124d; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="color: #20124d; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">This was the first ever single to be certified multi-platinum by the Recording Industry Association of America having received a four-times platinum status certification. Numerous awards attest to the song's commercial success including three Grammy Awards, one American Music Award and a People's Choice Award.</span></div><div style="color: #20124d; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="color: #20124d; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">This is probably the only song in music history twice over, that can boast of an impressive array of the most popular recording artists from two successive generations contributing their time, talent and commitment pro-bono for a noble humanitarian purpose; to help others in need. Lionel notes that the 2010 batch was carefully chosen to represent a new generation of artists to whom the baton of interpretation was being passed on to. </span><br />
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">On February 1, 2010; about a hundred of these multi-awarded artists took time out from their busy schedules and came directly from the recently held Grammy Awards ceremonies to share their voices in the sentimental A&M recording studio where it was originally recorded. The list of superstar participants included music greats such as Tony Bennett, Celine Dion, Barbra Streisand, Gladys Knight, Jennifer Hudson, Josh Groban, mixed with a perfect balance of popular young performers to the latest hip-hop style rappers.</span></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Both video versions are made memorable as their star-studded combined presence pay fitting tribute to outstanding songwriters Lionel Richie and Michael Jackson. <div class="separator" style="clear: both; text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzidduoLO2ncD37L0GnXFQfMJG65cwkWed3vo8rIViHAuWEHQgXXRiFPAWWnpa4rP8Kus05cR1hOv0vHUj9JCBVmP6LXyWomdkwyFxQ1Qs8u61C76kNrBkC8BcyTIfkKmmrz2wB4uqYj4/s1600-h/Smartmatic+Counter.jpg" imageanchor="1" style="margin-left: 1em; margin-right: 1em;"><img border="0" height="230" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEjzidduoLO2ncD37L0GnXFQfMJG65cwkWed3vo8rIViHAuWEHQgXXRiFPAWWnpa4rP8Kus05cR1hOv0vHUj9JCBVmP6LXyWomdkwyFxQ1Qs8u61C76kNrBkC8BcyTIfkKmmrz2wB4uqYj4/s400/Smartmatic+Counter.jpg" width="380" /></a></div><br />
What’s in my vote? This question is often asked by inquisitive voters who recently have shown great interest by way of active youth participation in the coming May 2010 Philippine elections. With the youth sector now comprising about 60% of the eligible voting population, their unified effort is an influential force that can strongly determine the outcome of such electoral exercise.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Another way to rephrase this question is “Why should I vote?” There are many valid reasons why we as responsible citizens should exercise our right to vote.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Electing the right people to government is a serious duty of every citizen. We take extra care in choosing our spouse and carefully assess the credentials of those we employ within our businesses, so why shouldn’t we exercise the same diligence when it comes to electing our national leaders?</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The right to vote or right to suffrage is a constitutional right to freely choose from among us responsible leaders who will steer the course of our nation’s destiny. History has shown how our heroes gallantly fought for Philippine independence. The fruit of this sacrifice is our freedom and the right of suffrage. Voting judiciously is an act of gratitude to our forefathers who sacrificed so much for us to be able to exercise this basic right. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The right to vote is a sacred right. It is a sacred privilege granted by God unto His people; consequently a responsible exercise is expected from us. This is in effect an extension of the free will given by God to man, his right to choose freely those who will lead our nation to prosperity and salvation.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The much quoted electoral phrase by William of Malmesbury in the 12th century “Vox populi, vox Dei.” translating to “the voice of the people is the voice of God.” can only be acceptable to God if the true sentiments and choice of the people is accurately reflected in the transparent exercise.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The conduct of an honest peaceful and orderly election to accurately reflect the true sentiments of the voters is the sacred responsibility of every voter since a manipulation of results can have dire consequences not only to the electorate but a mockery of the sacred privilege granted to us.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The right to vote is our right to expect good, efficient and accountable governance. It is our duty to install God-fearing, honest, responsible and compassionate leaders. The proper and transparent fiscal management of the citizenry’s moneys so as to ensure the delivery of basic services such as food, shelter, infrastructure and medical benefits to the electorate is a basic commitment expected from the national leadership.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The right to vote is our right to be provided with affordable and quality education. This is the most important privilege that we must obtain from the government for the benefit of our children. As time passes, every generation’s quality of life after us must improve and only good education is the key that will guarantee a better and secured future for them. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">The right to vote is our right to obtain sustainable employment. Much is expected from whom much is given. If worthy candidates are elected, they are then expected to provide the electorate with stable jobs. While current emphasis is given towards preference for outbound jobs, the leadership should develop strategies to shift from migration to skill retention. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">With our country’s vast natural resources and our people’s world-class technical skills, the emphasis should be on the provision of better economic conditions to stimulate the creation of sustainable enterprises that provide local quality employment. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">It is unacceptable for the leadership to solely depend on foreign employment to sustain the livelihood of our people. As between the choice of local and foreign jobs, it is more practical and vital to the survival of the Filipino family as a basic social institution, for the breadwinner to work within areas nearest to his community or place of residence. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Have you ever wondered why there is so much vote-buying during elections? That’s because your vote carries with it so many privileges that benefit not only the voter but extends way beyond future generations. Thus, your vote is priceless! There is no monetary amount that can ever match the true value of your precious vote. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">When one sells out, it’s like selling out their dignity and respect. The short-term benefits of a vote sell-out are no match for the long-term benefits that an intelligent and wise vote can bring to the people and the country in general. If you truly love yourself, your family, and your country, you will never in your right conscience sell or exchange your vote.</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">We reap what we sow. We deserve the kind of government we elect. We, eventually, pay and suffer for our own mistakes. For the next six years, we will have no one else to blame but us for our dismal state. If we allow the political installation of undeserving and unworthy candidates in national government, we the electorate are bound to suffer the consequences of such irresponsible choices. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">It is appropriate to say therefore, that every Filipino should fulfill his patriotic duty to country and to God by voting wisely. With proper discernment and fervent prayer to be guided in making the right decision, God will surely look with favor upon us and enlighten us on the leaders He intended for us to make the Philippines a better nation for our children and our children's children. </div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #351c75; font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-size: large;"><span style="font-family: "Helvetica Neue",Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: large;"><b>VOTE WISELY AND CONSCIENTIOUSLY!</b></span><b><br />

FERNANDO SUAREZ<div style="color: #330099; text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Two years ago, he wouldn't even get a second glance much less a sense of name-recall recognition. Today mention the name of Fernando Suarez, and people from all walks of life go on a frenzy, screaming his name while frantically pushing their way towards him just to touch him.</span></div><br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKhPM3BryeukUYJp-yb__MXOIkvtz3FZA_hr_jt4ymJLMxinBV4Mu4cbTs2bM_hqPDO_LUOnMbY_AKl1-lN_6JIy2PXFJrFwSvYy4Dc7A6-Pwu-GGYtxPB7RcLosYjw9lhTTHj34qWFag/s1600-h/DSC00194.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163942291222816434" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEhKhPM3BryeukUYJp-yb__MXOIkvtz3FZA_hr_jt4ymJLMxinBV4Mu4cbTs2bM_hqPDO_LUOnMbY_AKl1-lN_6JIy2PXFJrFwSvYy4Dc7A6-Pwu-GGYtxPB7RcLosYjw9lhTTHj34qWFag/s320/DSC00194.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 363px;" /></a><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Although he is a Filipino-Canadian immigrant based in Ottawa Canada, the name Fernando Suarez is unmistakably Filipino, a Batangueno who hails from Barrio Butong in Taal, Batangas. Today February 7, he turns 43 years and is at the prime of his youth in the service of God.</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCw8gGq5MTc9LuNjUkX2JdtTJKlpZPqDNq24Vw4JXANpD2xLFSL8H9J7Q7CdI7hjmvhuZ9Y-kExuvkZZKHhUUhbUv5fT-hEor-PyJoEgJnx8XsuMnnR3CGL_F9ipK83jdCk04Ae3dbYg/s1600-h/DSC00183.JPG" onblur="try
{parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163934968303576642" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgMCw8gGq5MTc9LuNjUkX2JdtTJKlpZPqDNq24Vw4JXANpD2xLFSL8H9J7Q7CdI7hjmvhuZ9Y-kExuvkZZKHhUUhbUv5fT-hEor-PyJoEgJnx8XsuMnnR3CGL_F9ipK83jdCk04Ae3dbYg/s320/DSC00183.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 361px;" /></a><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">His boyish charm, strikingly good looks and charismatic warm smile are enough to make his followers scream like he was a movie-star; but his real claim to fame are his humility, sincerity and a kind heart. God has indeed chosen well in the person of Fernando Suarez to be His appointee to do his healing ministry.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Father Fernando for all his supernatural ability to heal, is ironically a natural, down-to-earth, warm and cheerful person devoid of any self-pride. He is so intimately people-friendly and accommodating that crowds gravitate and relate to him like they have known him as a long time friend.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">One character that is his greatest asset to a fault is his simplicity and humility. Father Suarez strikes everyone as a good-natured and humble person that can be instinctively trusted and easy to confide to; thus everyone always wants to come close to him seeking miraculous favors.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Undeniably, the greatest character of Father Fernando is his humility. Thus, it isn't a surprise that the power to heal has been with him for almost 25 years now and that this gift hasn't gone into his head.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">At age 16, for the simple boy that he is, he found it quite difficult to accept the gift of healing that was bestowed upon him by God. He discovered this ability by accident; as he prayed over a paralyzed woman whom he saw and took pity on her.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">As he was praying over her, the woman suddenly started to walk and he was stunned by this incident. Without any clue of what is to come, he just kept this incident to </span><span style="font-family: verdana;">himself and didn't discuss it with anyone.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">But the gift of healing wasn't meant to be kept in secret, it was destined by God to be shared by Father Fernando for the benefit of those who needs it the most. They are the poor, the destitute and desperate who have lost all hope in life, and have no one to turn to for their physical needs.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="text-align: center;"><a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEiPCE_VihvSwMx5WCPlZ3HPnqoHT7fKrXQwsul3N1SaY2P3GBdArBl1fpO1Wk9vcHJ7PmQjYVaXXqfkeLHj5tHhYCwg0Nq9ookn2BGlB3Kd48OwhPGidoV8vu-LAqRQLS4o2RMw4iEOXp0/s1600-h/DSC00153.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();}

<span style="font-family: verdana;">Father Fernando clearly acknowledges in all his Homilies in the various Healing Masses that it is our Lord Jesus Christ who actually heals and that he is just an instrument to do His Will.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">He elaborates the four specific ways by which Jesus heals: "The Lord heals by His Presence, His Touch, through His Word and by partaking of the Holy Eucharist. It is by your faith in Jesus that you are healed. When you come to Him, humbling oneself to ask for forgiveness and healing, God responds accordingly with great compassion and outpouring of Love."</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Father Fernando further stresses that for healing to be complete, one must also receive the Sacrament of the Holy Eucharist in a sinless state, free from sin. For total healing to be absolute, it must be whole and involve the person's physical and spiritual being.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Thus, he emphasizes the importance of regularly availing the Sacrament of Reconciliation (Confession) as a pre-requisite to partaking of the Holy Eucharist. This explains why his healing rites are always preceded with a celebration of the Holy Mass. The gift of healing obtained after the Mass is a supernatural gift that comes from the Divine Healer Himself, Jesus Christ.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">And what a supernatural gift it truly is. Modern day miracles such as making the crippled and lame walk, the blind regaining their sight, hopeless terminal cases of incurable diseases disappearing without even a slight medical trace left. There are even recent reports of the recent dead rising back to life.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Of course, these miraculous events are nothing new to Father Fernando. When asked for his reaction on how he felt when he sees his patients instantly being healed in front of him, he replies: "As I touch them, it all seems so natural; feeling nothing special within me, but as I see them get healed before me, I get stunned and deeply moved by the great love that the Lord has for His people."</span><br />
<br />
<a href="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjak1dgfa5qiSEVcmZLjJ_TRdBQXOQu68K7agGpqrk6Q4somGHpwK5scQ6W1KTXc140RLrkLxPTDDg1r48VjKH_gn6rrBqx13sLEQANFqf_et8ZqdztXNAqdJ2HOZgNlrVNLUSYvd0pj8/s1600-h/DSC00188.JPG" onblur="try {parent.deselectBloggerImageGracefully();} catch(e) {}"><img alt="" border="0" id="BLOGGER_PHOTO_ID_5163940513106355858" src="https://blogger.googleusercontent.com/img/b/R29vZ2xl/AVvXsEgjak1dgfa5qiSEVcmZLjJ_TRdBQXOQu68K7agGpqrk6Q4somGHpwK5scQ6W1KTXc140RLrkLxPTDDg1r48VjKH_gn6rrBqx13sLEQANFqf_et8ZqdztXNAqdJ2HOZgNlrVNLUSYvd0pj8/s320/DSC00188.JPG" style="cursor: pointer; display: block; height: 240px; margin: 0px auto 10px; text-align: center; width: 362px;" /></a><span style="font-family: verdana;"> </span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Most of his patients don't exactly agree to this perception. Many claimed that as they touch him, they immediately felt an electrifying ground-like supernatural sensation warming throughout the entire area of their body most specially the parts that need healing. His touch is so sensitive and warm that it comforts the sick and desperate who comes from faraway places, desiring only to be touched by him as their strong faith brings about fulfillment of their healing requests.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">In the latter part of his Healing Masses, Father Fernando prioritizes the critically-ill patients who are bed-ridden on make-shift stretchers debilitated with protruding air tubes from the nose attached to life-support oxygen tanks. Clearly their dismal state emphasizes the need to be prioritized as they desperately anchor on him their last hope for miraculous restoration.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Next in line are those unable to walk and are saddled on wheelchairs. Often, these wheelchairs are placed side-by side and all lined up together in two rows facing each other to facilitate individual healing rites performed on them by Father Fernando.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Routinely, he would hold both hands and lifting them up to encourage the patient to stand; as he guides them to walk independently on their own. Miraculously, they rise up to naturally walk with him as if nothing of their complications ever transpired. Thereafter, he gives the wheelchair to the patient who pulls it out of the aisle walking on their own.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;"><br />

<span style="font-family: verdana;">Father Suarez is ably assisted by his fellow Canadian priest Father Jeff Shannon. Both of them belong to the Canadian Congregation of the Companions of the Cross. Many who were healed attests to the healing capabilities of Father Jeff and like Father Fernando, it is a common sight to see people falling unconsciously on their backs after being prayed over by them and "slained by the Holy Spirit".</span><br />

<span style="font-family: verdana;">Always busy but never tired, Fathers Fernando and Jeff are actually on an international healing mission. Over the years, their ministerial work entails extensive traveling to different parts of the world to share their healing gifts to as many as possible and proclaim the greatness of the Kingdom of God through these miraculous healings.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">Recently Father Fernando has intimated his desire to permanently stay put in Batangas on the third quarter of 2008 to personally supervise the development of the MONTEMARIA Shrine. MONTEMARIA is a project of Mary Mother of the Poor Foundation (MMPF), an apostolic initiative led by Father Suarez. MMPF is an apostolic endeavor with the aim to "seek holiness in evangelizing and working with the poor through the intercession of the Blessed Virgin Mary".</span><br />

In one of his dreams, Father Suarez reveals of a plan to install a majestic statue of Mary, Mother of the Poor as tall as the Statue of Liberty that overlooks the horizon, like a beacon of light, a proclamation of love and faith, a steadfast companion and guide for the earthly traveler as he makes his way to God.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">His comprehensive developmental plans for MONTEMARIA Oratory of the Blessed Virgin Mary include a Rosary Garden, a Way of the Cross, Eucharistic Adoration Chapel, St. Joseph Chapel, Divine Mercy Chapel, Columbarium and Retreat House that can serve as a way station for pilgrims, complete with board and lodging facilities, restrooms, souvenir shops, conference rooms and bookstore.</span><br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;"><br />

<span style="font-family: verdana;">A gargantuan feat to undertake for such a simple and humble man. But then God chooses His people very well that He gives them all the help they need. And this project is wholly endorsed by no less than His Eminence Gaudencio Cardinal Rosales who acknowledges that Father Suarez with his exceptional qualifications is the person most capable of doing that job well.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: verdana;">As devotees of the Sacred Heart, Father Suarez intimately recalls that he was introduced by Cardinal Rosales to Hernando Vitas, a Batangueno businessman whose vision is to establish an image of the Sacred Heart of Jesus similar to the one installed in Rio De Janeiro. After much frustration in searching for the right place, Cardinal Rosales then suggested to Hernando and Fernando the proposed Montemaria site as the perfect place to install the Sacred Heart Image.</span><br />

<span style="font-family: verdana;">"It was definitely Providential an Act of Divine Intervention; when you think about it, our Lord Jesus Christ surely wanted to be where His Blessed Mother Mary was to be installed in Montemaria Batangas so it was by His Design that we were introduced to one another!" was all that Hernando can attest to this Divine Plan.<br />
<br />
Though plans for the completion of MONTEMARIA may average more than five years of construction, Fr. Suarez remains firmly committed in his objective. Sometime September, he prioritizes plans to conduct his healing ministry in a specific area within the Shrine to be constructed that is destined to become an international Global Healing Center and intended for tourism-related pilgrimage destination.<br />
<br />
Already other miracles are simultaneously being reported such as the miraculous healing stones that can be gathered within the mountains and surrounding area of the proposed site. Father Suarez explains this event to be God's handiwork to help in raising the awareness of the people to the sacredness of MONTEMARIA.<br />
<br />
Today as you add another eventful year to your fruitful life, may God bless, protect and guide you Father Fernando in all that you do. The Filipino people join hands in prayer to joyfully thank God in the name of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Christ for sending us a humble healer in your person that is Fernando Suarez.</span><span style="font-family: verdana;"><br />

<br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Once in a while, the popular music industry is fortunate to have recorded gifted and talented performers who not only brought great musical entertainment to us but were also quite influential in conveying timeless messages in the form of meaningful lyrics interspersed with defining rhythms. </span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Deceased yet outstanding artists such as John Lennon and George Harrison of The Beatles and more recently the King of Pop Michael Jackson sang universal messages of faith, hope, love and change that are as timeless and relevant on the day it was written. Infused with well crafted beats, the mind-retaining message becomes immortalized as a music recording for all future generations to enjoy.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">If music is indeed a mirror of the soul, then the listeners should listen intently on the lyrics as they convey a universal relevant message intended for them by the composer.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Michael Jackson's unstoppable popularity was so uncontrollable it went way beyond his core personality to the point that he lost his own identity in the process. His every action in public and private life included; was scrutinized by various critics and adoring fans alike that every move he made was subject to undue criticism for purposes of further commercial exploitation.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Whether they would care to admit it, these vulnerable performers are ultra-sensitive to all sorts of criticism which can be very self-destructive if taken seriously as to cause an identity crisis from within. When the soul of such artists is damaged, the spirit of the music is ruined and the purpose of the musician is forever lost. </span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Michael, as are all other great musical performers, are precious gifts of God to mankind. They were bestowed the gift of insightful music meant not only to bring entertainment but also to serve as an inspiration to the universal message they were tasked to bring through their music.</span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">While we have lost them in the course of time, we are grateful that their works are forever immortalized in digital format for permanent reference. The resurgence of youth interest in the music of The Beatles and Michael Jackson only proves that their popularity wasn't limited only to the time when they were performed. Their continued relevance in terms of increased sales is due to their legendary status and physical absence only makes them even more valuable than ever for the memorable contributions they have left us. </span></div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: #4c1130; text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">From among all of God's creatures, the spiritual ability to create and appreciate beautiful music is unique only to mankind. Thus sincere appreciation for the works of our great music geniuses will enable us to impart to our youth; the traditional values of dedication, honor, respect, honesty, and discipline; to further encourage active participation for the God-given talent of creating music, as the mirror of our soul. </span></div><br />
<span style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">This neat slogan used by the music industry sums it all up; No Music, No Life! Our unwavering support for buying only originals and refusing pirated copies is our own contribution in the preservation of these great musical masterpieces.</span><br />

<b>Since this video was posted by Sony Pictures DVD on January 22; it has been viewed as of this date by 1,126,284 viewers. While it may take some time till it reaches the Thriller viewer lever of 37,665,644 hits, one thing is certain; these impressive Cebuano inmates will continue to dance their way to entertainment stardom into the hearts of international viewers with their unique display of Filipino solidarity and discipline.</b><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">I’ve always recommended Cebu City as one of my preferred travel destination, as the islanders Cebuanos are by themselves a world-class attraction. Proof of this, is the fact that even in the least most expected place such as a maximum security penitentiary facility, one will never imagine to find the prison inmates themselves to be a popular tourist favorite.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">With their own Thriller performance captivating the online world’s interest, the 1,500 inmates of the Cebu Provincial Detention and Rehabilitation Center (CPDRC) offer an interestingly different kind of group dance entertainment that is like no other in the world.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">Their latest dance effort is an impressive collaboration with no less than the official Michael Jackson’s dance choreographer Travis Payne who specifically choreographed a special dance for the inmates to the beat of Jackson’s song “They Don’t Really Care About Us.”<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">This dance video was intended to be part of a promotional press kit for the “This is It” DVD launching of Michael Jackson’s last performance-rehearsals scheduled for official release on January 26.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">It was reported that the inmates rehearsed Mr. Payne’s choreography in just one day on January 18, and the filming of the entire video was done the next day. Now if that isn’t a spectacular show of unified discipline and structured coordination, where else can you find such tight camaraderie but inside a Cebu prison facility.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">A lot of credit should go to the creative vision of prison warden Mr. Byron F. Garcia who initiated these dance routine exercise activities for the inmates as a constructive way of passing their daily time usefully and instilling self-discipline among them.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">As related by Mr. Payne, even Michael himself thoroughly enjoyed the inmates’ rendition of his biggest dance hit “Thriller” and would often watch it while taking a break from his grueling dance rehearsals; a resounding testament and fitting tribute from the King of Pop who considers their Thriller interpretation a world-class feat by itself.<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">If Michael was alive, he surely wouldn’t miss the opportunity to film his next dance hit video with these awesome back-up inmate dancers, amidst the surefire prediction that such bold concept would turnout to be another monstrous hit effort worldwide. Talk about Filipino talent attaining world-class status, this truly is it!<br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="color: blue; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">There's just one major obstacle, as these charismatic inmate dance entourage can’t be hired and won’t be allowed to travel with him on a worldwide performance tour. But hey, they’re always available at the detention facility, and one only needs to go there to enjoy the kind of unique world-class entertainment that can’t be seen in any other part of our world.<br />

<br /></div>
</div>
<div style="font-family: Verdana,sans-serif; text-align: justify;">
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #000066;">The National Shrine of the Sacred Heart truly has a national treasure in its midst. Gracing the front of the Altar is an artistic life like painting of a 10-feet massive portrait of the Sacred Heart of Jesus.</span><br />
<span style="color: #000066;"><br /></span>
<span style="color: #000066;">This special portrait of the Sacred Heart of Jesus is unique in that it cannot be found anywhere else in the world except only at the Philippine National Shrine of the Sacred Heart.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<span style="color: #000066;">This warm portrait of a friendly and smiling Jesus joyfully handing out His Sacred Heart to mankind is a masterpiece impression by world class painter Father Armand Tangi, SSP.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066;">Father Armand A. Tangi is an extremely gifted and talented Filipino artist-painter and an active priest from the religious group of Society of St. Paul. Always busy in his San Antonio Makati office, he is in charge of mini-media, responsible for dissemination of God's Word in non-traditional forms of media.</span></div>
<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Despite his natural artistic gift, Father Armand is quick to dismiss the praises and compliments that many of his religious masterpiece paintings command. He acknowledges his gratefulness to God for this special talent which he gladly uses without hesitation to glorify Him in any way he can.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;"><br />
He reveals the power of intimate prayer as his secret ingredient to a successful painting. Whenever he sets out to do any religious painting, he makes it a point to always pray and seek enlightenment so that he may be guided in what God wants to be done for the finished work.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br /></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">As soon as he starts brush painting, he senses his hands move spontaneously as they work on the canvass as if the master strokes of Divine Inspiration flow from within. Uninterrupted and inspired, the final work becomes classic art pieces worthy of national treasure status coming from a humble painter yet unrecognized but worthy of national artist status.<span style="font-family: Arial,Helvetica,sans-serif; font-size: small; font-weight: bold;"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<br />
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<span style="color: #000066;"><span style="font-size: small; font-weight: bold;">KNOWN BY HIS FRUITS</span> </span></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">If a tree is known by its fruits, then Fr. Armand can be intimately known by his past accomplishments. The most important artistic work he considers to have done so far are the interior artworks for the National Shrine of the Sacred Heart.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Though little is known by the parishioners that a Filipino painter priest who works within the San Antonio Village Community was the artist responsible for the Shrine's beautiful interiors, it is not by coincidence but by Divine Intervention that God had called him to do the difficult work of refining the interiors according to His Plan.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">After celebrating the 7:00AM Mass at the Shrine, Bishop Crisostomo Yalung invited Fr. Armand to share breakfast with him. It was then that Bishop Yalung raised his greatest concern about the probable obstacle by which the renovation works of the Shrine may be delayed for some time beyond the expected date of completion.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Bishop Yalung lamented the fact that they had commissioned a Filipino-Spanish painter to do the mural of the Sacred Heart which was fronting the Altar. But since he had a busy and hectic schedule, the Spanish painter gave the minimum estimate of six months working time for all the interior artworks to be completed.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">It was then that Bishop Yalung asked him if he could take on the job. Without any hesitation, Fr. Armand earnestly agreed by responding, "Yes Bishop I would do it for you and for the Sacred Heart because the Sacred Heart is my devotion."</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">As an ardent Sacred Heart devotee, Fr. Armand never lets a day pass without praying the Novena to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. He testifies that the Sacred Heart of Jesus and the Immaculate Heart of the Blessed Mother Mary has blessed him with so many answered prayers and that They have never failed him.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">While in his tertiary year studying Fine Arts at the University of the Philippines, he acknowledges the guidance of the Blessed Virgin Mary in being instrumental in confirming his important decision to enter the seminary for priesthood. He also attributes the Blessed Mother Mary as the one responsible for bringing him closer to Her Son Jesus through this Devotion to the Sacred Heart.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Father Armand's deep love for the Two Hearts was so great that he was responsible for the artistic concept and final design of the Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary that is now immortalized in blue and white ceramic tiles by Mariwasa initiated in celebration of the Year of the Immaculate Hearts of Jesus and Mary.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">This is now a popular national tradition adopted among house builders in the Philippines to strategically place the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary commemorative tiles in the front door of the house or gates evidently greeting house visitors and to bring blessings to the house residents.<span style="font-weight: bold;"> </span></span><br />
<br />
<div style="font-family: Georgia,"Times New Roman",serif;">
<br />
<span style="color: #000066;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">WORKS OF DIVINE INSPIRATION</span> </span></div>
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">When Father Armand agreed to take on the painting artworks of the Shrine's interiors, he was confident that by God's grace and with His guidance, he may be able to finish the work in a shorter period of time which was crucial to the anticipated date of formal blessing.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">True enough, it is by God's Divine Intervention and one would find it hard to believe that all the excellent masterpiece paintings done inside the Shrine were finished by him after one month.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Father Armand was entrusted to do for the Shrine, a total of eight paintings. Aside from the 10 feet mural of the Smiling Sacred Heart, lifelike paintings of Our Lady of Perpetual Help, St. Margaret Mary Alacoque, Vision of the Sacred Heart to St. Alacoque, and the four evangelists, Matthew, Mark, Luke and John were completed by him within one month.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Father Armand would always stressed that while it was Divine Inspiration that was literally guiding his master strokes, he somehow manages to inject a little of his own impression of whatever he is painting on.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">He explains in detail that art must reflect life and while so many impressions of Jesus' sufferings have already been portrayed in various artworks, it is but also fair that Jesus be portrayed in His moments of joy since life is a complete experience of both joy and suffering.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">It is no wonder then, that his interpretation of a smiling Jesus holding out His Sacred Heart joyfully offering it to mankind is a magnificent masterpiece showcasing the humanity and divinity of Jesus as a happy and merciful Saviour. Truly, that unique human portrait of the Smiling Sacred Heart of Jesus is a Philippine national treasure that can't be found anywhere else in the world.</span></div>

<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Father Armand can also be credited as the less known Filipino painter who popularized the unique portraits of The Laughing Christ and The Smiling Christ, which are collection favorites worldwide.</span><br />
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">It surprises him to no end, that well meaning friends coming from trips abroad would come home and give him as a present this unique portrait of "The Laughing Jesus". Little do they know that it was he who first painted the original portrait which had eventually found its way overseas. Still, he would be that humble not to even admit to his friends of these portraits being his original work and idea.</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">To date he has completed an impressive collection of modern day poster interpretations of a "youthful Christ" to make Him more relevant and suitably appealing to a younger generation of audience.</span><br />

<br />
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">Another classic masterpiece of the Vision of the Sacred Heart is immortalized in the colorful glass mosaic sculpture hanging suspended in the center of Adoration Chapel of the National Shrine. As explained by Father Armand, "A closer look at it, reveals the many intricate and beautiful colors of the joys of life which emanate from loving the Sacred Heart of Jesus; the center of which also houses the Sacred Host of the Blessed Sacrament."</span></div>
<div style="text-align: justify;">
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">For all of the Shrine's elaborate interior artworks, Father Armand didn't charge professional labor fees and was only reimbursed for the appropriate material costs. He considers it a work of love to glorify God and is more than grateful to have been given the opportunity to do the work which was more than enough for him; since he is a devotee of the Sacred Heart. Likewise, I reassured him that it was not by coincidence but by the Divine Plan of God that clearly he was the destined one appointed to do the work instead of the Spanish painter.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="color: #000066; font-family: Verdana,sans-serif;">From the Shrine's classic immortal paintings to the intricate colorful art glass design, Father Armand is truly an instrument for the Divine Interpretation of how Jesus wanted his Shrine to reflect the magnanimity of His Sacred Heart. </div><span style="color: #660000; font-family: verdana;"><br />
</span><br />
<div style="color: #660000; text-align: justify;"><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">One of the most precious Philippine natural jewels is the beautiful island of Cebu. This popular city is a favorite vacation and leisure destination of local Filipinos and foreign travelers alike. In my personal list of preferred worldwide travel destinations, I would rank Cebu as among the top ten of the world’s best vacation spots to consider.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Cebu’s majestic natural wealth is evidently spread out in the vast mountainous terrains, sprawling fertile land and crystal clear sea for which this beautiful paradise island has been bountifully blessed. Its natural serenity casually invites the weary traveler for an invigorating physical and spiritual rejuvenation.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">The most important natural resource of Cebu are its people; the Cebuanos. The local residents are innately hospitable, warm, jovial, friendly, accommodating and devout religious Catholics. They are the island’s greatest asset that has made Cebu City tourist-friendly and perhaps the best reason why Cebu is a must-visit travel destination.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">One of the best time to visit Cebu is the month of January. This being the first month is significant as it marks the start of a month-long schedule of festivities focusing on a very important annual celebration, the Sinulog Festival. The highlight of this much anticipated festival is an extravagant simultaneous thanksgiving celebration of Masses, prayers, singing, dancing and colorful parades to honor, thank and celebrate the Feast of the Sto. Nino (The Holy Child Jesus) officially observed every third Sunday of January.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">It is a local tradition among the Cebuanos that participation in the Sinulog festivities is a sure way to have one’s personal petitions granted by the Sto. Nino. The highly revered image of the Sto. Nino which is installed at the Basilica De Sto. Nino is widely believed to come down from His pedestal to join the locals during the parade held in His honor. And this is the best time for the participants to ask and thank Him for personal petitions and favors which are surely granted.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">Historically, Cebu has been blessed by God to be the planting ground of the first seeds of Christianity for the Philippines. When Magellan came to Cebu on April 17, 1521, he formally introduced Christianity to the locals. He then gave the image of the Sto. Nino as a baptismal gift to Hara Amihan, wife of Cebu’s Rajah Humabon who was later named Queen Juana. The baptismal rites were not limited to the rulers but also included about 800 of their subjects. From here, Christianity as a national religion was embraced and conversion soon sprouted to other parts of the country.</span><br />
<br />
<span style="font-family: verdana;">For who would have thought that a goodwill baptismal gift of an innocent Image of the Holy Child Jesus would herald the baptismal of the Philippine nation into the Catholic Faith. This inspirational token of the Sto. Nino brought forth the spiritual baptism of the Filipino people and our nation's eventual conversion to Christianity was the best gift ever given by Magellan and the Spaniards.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">From Cebu, the Philippines was pre-destined by Divine Intercession of the miraculous Sto. Nino to become the largest Christian nation in the Far East and probably the single largest Catholic Christian nationality in the entire world. Thus, while the Sto. Nino is considered to be the Patron Saint of Cebu, it could very well be nationally honored as the Philippine Patron Saint of Christianity.</span><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><br />
</div><div style="text-align: justify;"><span style="font-family: verdana;">If only for this important reason, the celebration of the Sinulog festival shouldn’t be limited to Cebu. The entire Filipino nation should set aside the Third Sunday of January as a national holiday of Thanksgiving to honor and thank the miraculous Sto. Nino for His Divine Intercession in making the Philippines a truly blessed Christian nation that we are.</span><br />
